PDF is made for print, not for the web: embedded as-is in a site, it forces visitors to download a file, it's poorly indexed by search engines and unreadable on mobile without zooming. Beware of scanned PDFs: they contain only pictures of text, and the conversion cannot extract words from them. Run them through the ocr tool first to reconstruct the text.
