You've designed a document — registration sheet, questionnaire, order form, certificate to complete — and you want recipients to fill it in from their keyboard rather than with a pen? It's missing interactive form fields. Creating a PDF form usually means expensive software; here, you drop in your PDF, place your fields, and the document becomes fillable in any PDF reader.
The use cases are endless: a nonprofit digitizing its membership sheet, a small business sending work orders to technicians, a teacher handing out a questionnaire, an HR department preparing a standard certificate. The recipient opens the PDF, clicks into the fields, types their answers — no special software needed on their end.
You add text fields and checkboxes wherever the document needs them, adjusting their position and size. Technically, each field is written into the PDF in native coordinates — the format's "PDF points" — which guarantees exact, stable placement: the field will appear in the same spot in Adobe Reader, in a browser or on mobile. The fields created are genuine AcroForm fields, the standard for PDF forms.
Give each field an explicit name (name, email, date…): that's what makes the form cleanly usable, especially if the answers are later processed with the fill-form tool or by business software. To prepare the document beforehand, edit lets you add labels and guide lines, and protect locks the final form against structural changes. As always on pdfOutils: no account required, no watermark added, and your files are automatically deleted from the server after processing.
