Why convert a PowerPoint presentation to PDF?

A PowerPoint presentation is built to be projected from the machine that created it: the moment it travels, anything can shift. Missing fonts get substituted on the fly, different PowerPoint versions interpret spacing differently, the reader may simply not have the software — and your carefully crafted layout falls apart. A PDF freezes every slide exactly as you designed it: it's the format of choice for distributing training material, sending a defense deck to a jury or archiving a client presentation.

PDF also brings practical benefits: it opens on any device without paid software, prints cleanly with several slides per page, and often weighs less than the original .pptx. After converting, the merge tool can combine several presentations into one document, compress can shrink it further, and protect can add a password before sharing.

A faithful conversion, slide by slide

Our conversion relies on a real office rendering engine — LibreOffice's — backed by fonts metrically compatible with Microsoft Office's. Every slide becomes a faithful PDF page: backgrounds and themes, images and charts, text boxes, tables and bullets land exactly where they belong. Animations and transitions, which belong to the live slideshow, naturally don't apply to a static document: the final state of each slide is what gets exported.

The .pptx, .ppt (PowerPoint 97-2003) and .odp (OpenDocument Impress) formats are accepted up to 100 MB. Before downloading, check the result page by page in the built-in preview. As always on pdfOutils: no account required, no watermark added, and your files are automatically deleted from the server after processing.
