Why convert an Excel spreadsheet to PDF?

Sending an Excel workbook as-is is asking for trouble: formulas recalculated on another machine, columns cut off in print, cells edited by mistake, Excel versions that don't render the same things. Whenever a spreadsheet is meant to be read rather than reworked — a priced quote, a monthly report, a dashboard, an account statement, a schedule — PDF is the answer: it freezes values, layout and pagination, and opens everywhere without a spreadsheet application installed.
