A QR code replaces a long, awkward address with a one-second gesture: point the camera, the page opens. That is what made it the default tool for restaurant menus, event registration forms, a tradesperson's contact page, a payment link, a product's instructions or guest wifi access — a customer scans and connects without anyone having to spell out a twenty-character WPA key.
On print, it bridges paper and web: a poster in a shop window, a flyer, a business card, a parcel label, a site board, a conference badge. That is why the export format matters. PNG is perfect for screen use, e-mail or a website; SVG is vector: it stays perfectly crisp at any size, from a small square on a business card to a large-format poster, with no staircase effect whatsoever.
The code is computed entirely in your browser: the text or URL you type is never sent to our servers, and the preview updates as you type. We use error correction level M, the best compromise for everyday use: roughly 15% of the code can be damaged, dirtied, folded or partly hidden without the scan failing. That is what keeps a QR code readable on a creased flyer or a label that has travelled.
A few reflexes before you send anything to print: always test the code with two different phones, leave the white margin around the square — the "quiet zone" is part of the code and a tight frame prevents detection — keep a dark pattern on a light background rather than the reverse, and allow at least two centimetres per side for arm's-length scanning.
